Caves and Cosmos

Join Dartmoor Skies for an astronomy themed evening! Gaze up at the stars and learn how our ancestors would have viewed them thousands of years ago.

Date: 13th to 13th October
Caves and Cosmos

If our ancestors looked up at the night sky half a million years ago, what would they have seen?

How different would it have been from what we see today? Join Rob from astronomy charity 'Dartmoor Skies' for an insightful, fun and interactive talk which will explore what previous inhabitants of Kents Cavern would and wouldn't have seen when they gazed skyward. If the sky is clear there will be a guided tour of the night sky and a chance to see some wonders of the universe first hand. Including the Hunters Moon which will be visible that evening. You'll be able to see all of this through Dartmoor Skies' brilliant telescopes.

If the weather is bad then a guided cave tour will take place in which you will get to see the true beauty of these magnificent and scientifically significant caves. It's a real win-win.
