Here at the caves we've got both indoor and outdoor activities to keep the younger ones entertained! Our woodland trail is Stone Age themed, so the kids might even learn a thing or two. Make sure you head to the indoor activity area to get creative on our walls.
Dig through the sand for multi-coloured gemstones, fossils, shark's teeth and ammonites. Grab a bag and take away what you find.
TRIBAL FACE PAINTING
Choose a face on our tribal wall, decorate it and create your own caveman! You can be as silly or as serious as you'd like.
Grab some chalk and draw on our 'cave wall'. Why not draw a hyena, woolly mammoth, wolf or any other Ice Age animals you can think of.
THE WALL OF HANDS
Leave your hand print on the wall of hands Stone Age style. Or brass rub your way along 400 million years of history along the Kents Cavern timeline.
CAVOG'S RIDDLE QUEST
Our lovely mascot Cavog has made a riddle quest for young explorers at Kents Cavern. Find the clues around his pad, there's an adventure to be had.
STONE AGE TRAIL
Step into the Stone Age on our woodland trail. During the Stone Age humans had to survive by eating natural foods and making things from natural products. There are 9 Stone Age stations in our woods, each one represents a different aspect of Stone Age life. Use the clues on our activity sheet to figure out which station is which.
ICE AGE ANIMAL HUNT
Hunt around the woodlands for 7 animals which lived around Kents Cavern during the Ice Age, taking note of the letter on them. Rearrange the letters at the end and find the secret word.
