GeoTrail Coastal Walk

The Geo-Trail is a geological themed self-led circular walk from Kents Cavern along parts of the South West Coastal footpath.

Discover the 400 million year old Devonian rocks at Hopes Nose and its raised beaches, 7m higher than today's highest tides, revealing a story of global climate change, endured by the ancient Ice Age people using Kents Cavern.

Suggested itinerary:

  • Arrive at Kents Cavern
  • Pick up a GeoTrail map from the visitor centre (50p)
  • Self-led circular Geo-trail walk (2-3hrs)
  • Finish off with lunch or a traditional Devon Cream tea
