Outline of job                    

The role of a Kents Cavern Tour Guide is principally concerned with entertaining and leading visitors on guided tours around the cave system. However, outside the caves you are expected to undertake retail shop operations, ticketing and other customer service related operations.  Additionally you are expected to undertake site cleaning and maintenance duties, as directed.  You will also be expected to keep the children’s activity area and woodlands safe and clean.

The candidate will have good interpersonal skills, a smart appearance and a confident approach to dealing with the public.  The role involves constant interaction with the general public and the candidate must be able to deliver consistent quality to varying number of visitors through the application of good preparation and planning.  You will be required to wear uniform that is provided. 

PLEASE NOTE: Minimum age for Tour Guide is 18 and above.

The role requires the candidate to be able to work daytime shifts on any day of the week. Our peak visitor numbers occur during school holiday periods and over bank holiday weekends so you will not be permitted to take leave during these times. Any existing holiday commitments should be noted on your application form and we will take these into consideration when determining your suitability for the role.
