Your guided cave tour will take you back to a time when the cave was home to ancient humans, sheltering from extreme weather, making fires, shaping tools, and hunting prehistoric Ice Age animals.

As you walk easily through the extensive labyrinth of caverns, you will experience a moment of total darkness, and be surrounded by 400 million-year-old rocks and spectacular cave formations.

Kents Cavern is open all year. The cave tour ticket includes the guided tour and access to all facilities on site, including the Ice Age woodland animal trail.

All tours around the caves are guided at specified times.

Things to know before booking

Kents Cavern is open every day from 10am.
Access to the caves is by guided tour only.
Please aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of your tour.
Cave tours last just under 1 hour.
All activities can be done before or after the tour time you select.

Please note:

A minimum of 2 people is required to operate a tour. Solo visitors should select the first tour of the day and/or a tour that people have already booked (less than 30 tickets available). Call 01803 215136 if unsure. This is more important outside of school holidays when fewer people visit.
