Local Author - Jennifer Davy
Penzance-born Jennifer Davy has published a children’s story about her ancestor, Sir Humphry Davy - one of Cornwall’s most famous historical figures.
We are excited to welcome local author, Jennifer Davy, to Kents Cavern on 1st & 2nd March where she will be doing a reading of her book 'Chloe & The Bright Idea', the first in her series 'Chloe Tales'
You can come along to Jenny's reading at 11:30 on either Saturday 1st or Sunday 2nd March - Book here!
Sir Humphry Davy, the celebrated chemist, discovered seven of the elements on the periodic table, wrote reams of poetry, invented the Miner’s Safety Lamp, and accomplished much, much more throughout his lifetime - making him an all round genius and the absolute pride of Cornwall. Having grown up knowing about the family connection,
Jennifer Davy felt inspired to include him and his famous lamp in her ‘Chloe Tales’ series about a charismatic labradoodle. She asked herself the question - how could Chloe have been involved in the invention of the Miner’s Safety Lamp? And from that point the story unfolded
