Visiting Kents Cavern is easy and comfortable for the whole family. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your day out in Torquay.

Toilets & Baby Changing

We have clean, modern toilet facilities located at the visitor centre. A dedicated baby changing area is available for parents and carers. An accessible toilet is also on site for guests with additional needs.

Firestone Café

Our on-site Firestone Cafe serves up hot and cold drinks, snacks, light lunches, and sweet treats. Whether you're after a sit-down break or a quick takeaway option before your tour, we’ve got something for everyone.

Gift Shop

Don’t forget to pop into our gift shop! You’ll find a wide range of themed gifts and souvenirs - perfect for little explorers or unique keepsakes from your visit. Our gift shop also sells our highly popular Cave-aged Cheddar. Mature cheddar cheese which is aged inside Kents Cavern itself! You'll even walk past it maturing as you go on a guided tour.

Parking

Parking is available for visitors just outside the entrance and is £3 for up to four hours. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your tour to allow time to park and check in. Please note, parking spaces can be limited during peak times - plan ahead if visiting on busy days. There is also free on-street parking available in the surrounding residential areas outside Kents Cavern.

Weather-Proof Fun – Rain or Shine!

Come rain or shine, Kents Cavern is ready to welcome you. Our sheltered prehistoric caves stay cool in the summer heat and (mostly!) dry during unexpected downpours, making us the perfect destination whatever the forecast.

Whether you're looking to escape the midday sun, cool off undergroud, or enjoy an adventure that isn’t weather-dependent, your visit to Kents Cavern will go ahead in comfort.

It’s no wonder we’re one of the top-rated indoor attractions in Torquay and a favourite for rainy day activities in Devon. But there's plenty to do outside too when the sun comes out!

Make a day of it - coastal walks in Torquay

Kents Cavern is loacted just a stone's throw away from the South West Coast Path so why not embark on a coastal walk in Torquay either before or after your cave tour? Our cafe is now a stamp collection point for the South West Coast Path passport scheme too so don't forget to grab that whilst you're here!

The Bishop's Walk is a circular walk which you can start right from Kents Cavern! Bishop’s Walk was created by Henry Phillpotts, the Bishop of Exeter from 1831 until his death in 1869. He lived in a nearby mansion called Bishopstowe, which in later years became the Palace Hotel.

There are some beautiful beaches nearby too - Meadfoot beach is just a 25 minute walk or for a longer walk there's Oddicombe beach 40 minutes away in Babbacombe.
