We're looking for friendly, enthusiastic and confident volunteers to get involved with a number of different projects for the Kents Cavern Foundation, our very own charitable organisation. 

Potential volunteers will be working alongside Project Firestone, The Kents Cavern Foundation's Heritage Lottery funded project which aims at encouraging the general public to celebrate the exceptional prehistoric heritage in the area, especially at Kents Cavern! 

Volunteer roles: 

Educational visits

Help to host some fantastic activities on site to groups of up to 30 children! This could include themed visits, including the Stone Age. Use our Palaeo box to show some real artefacts found at the cave to local school children, either based at Kents Cavern our travel around Torbay! You'll also be trained to present and host hour long presentations and activities at schools based on the Stone Age or The English Riviera Geopark. 


Help maintain our Woodland Trail area and even encourage more wildlife into our woods. Research and plant new and traditional native plants and preserve its natural beauty.

Help develop a group to raise funds for the Kents Cavern Foundation and organise social events, trips and activities for all involved. You'll make some great friends along the way! 

Local Events 

Help at local events within the Torbay area and support other charitable work. Encourage other groups and members of the public to get involved. 

Kents cavern collection 

Help with research and contacts from museums all over the world in order to locate and record 80,000 artefacts removed from the cave in the 1800s.

Help with organised litter picks along the spectacular South West Coastal path and encourage locals and tourists a like to spend more time in our beautiful Bay. 

Archaeology stand 

Join us at Kents Cavern by providing demonstrations and information on a number of artefacts we have on site. Teach visitors old and young on some amazing Stone Age pieces. 

Event Support 

Help out with a range of events at Kents Cavern all year round including; Stone Age School and the Young Archaeologist's Club or even develop your own! 


Work on activities related to the Geopark and the Global Geopark conference 2016 


Volunteers having met the qualifying criteria will recieve
