Kents Cavern Joins South West Coast Path Way Makers Scheme

We are proud to announce we’ve joined the South West Coast Path Way Makers Scheme – a new reason for coastal walkers to stop, rest, and explore. Whether you’re an avid passport stamper or simply seeking a rewarding break along your hike, Kents Cavern offers a unique mix of natural history, scenic refreshment, and unforgettable adventure.
As part of the South West Coast Path experience, walkers can collect stamps in their Coast Path Passport at participating venues. We’re delighted to now be one of them! Our café, located just a short detour from the path in Torquay, welcomes walkers (and their four-legged companions) to take a well-earned rest while collecting their stamp.

A Dog-Friendly Coastal Break with a Unique Twist
Located near the coast path’s English Riviera section, Kents Cavern is ideally positioned for walkers heading through South Devon. It's a perfect pit stop for refreshments, with our dog-friendly café serving a variety of drinks, snacks, and meals in a relaxed and scenic setting. Plus, we provide water bowls, dog treats, and a warm welcome to our furry visitors.
If you’re in the mood for more than just a coffee break, why not join one of our guided tours? Kents Cavern offers visitors a chance to explore over one kilometre of dramatic cave passageways, rich in prehistoric history and natural wonders. From cathedral-like chambers to ancient stalagmites, the experience adds a whole new dimension to your coastal walk. Our tours are suitable for all ages and run throughout the day, offering a perfect way to extend your visit.
Seamless Access for Walkers on the Coast Path
For those planning a longer coastal walking adventure, Kents Cavern fits seamlessly into your itinerary. The caves are just minutes from the stunning footpaths, linking the South West Coast Path to our visitor centre. If you’re looking to explore more, we’ve mapped out our favourite local trails here: Coastal Walks from Kents Cavern.
Accessibility is easy, with parking available on site and public transport options nearby. The café is open daily and offers indoor and outdoor seating, making it an ideal year-round stop. Our friendly staff are always happy to provide directions and refill water bottles.

More Than a Stamp – A Memorable Stop on Your Journey
Whether you’re a solo trekker, a couple enjoying a scenic stroll, or a family seeking adventure, Kents Cavern adds something special to your coast path journey. The blend of historic wonder, beautiful woodland walks, and warm hospitality makes it more than just a stop – it’s a highlight.
Don’t forget to bring your Coast Path Passport with you! Our official stamp is available during opening hours in the café. It’s a small token that commemorates your journey and helps support the maintenance of this incredible National Trail.
Supporting Sustainable Adventures
As part of the Way Makers Scheme, Kents Cavern supports sustainable and community-focused tourism. We believe in enriching the experience of visitors while giving back to the region that makes adventures like the South West Coast Path possible.
So, the next time you lace up your boots and head out along the coast, plan a stop at Kents Cavern. Come for the passport stamp, stay for the coffee, and if you’ve got time – journey into the underground world of prehistoric Britain.
We look forward to welcoming you!
