National Cream Tea Day: Devon's Top Attractions Toast 40 Years with Forty For-TEA

A Delicious Double CelebratioN - National Cream Tea Day Meets Devon's Milestone
27th June is more than just National Cream Tea Day this year - it's a momentous occasion for Devon's Top Attractions as they celebrate four decades of showcasing the very best of the county. With a perfectly timed launch of the Forty For-TEA campaign, Devon's Top Attractions brings together its 40 members in a joyful tribute that combines cream-first scones, community pride, and a deep love for Devon's rich cultural and natural offerings.

The Iconic 40 Formation Photo
In a show of unity and Devonian tradition, all 40 members of Devon's Top Attractions gathered to mark the occasion with a symbolic photograph: standing in the shape of the number 40, each member proudly holding a freshly baked scone - cream first, of course! The photo isn't just a celebration of heritage; it's a powerful reminder of the passion and cooperation that fuels one of the UK's most beloved counties for tourism.
This eye-catching visual not only captures the spirit of National Cream Tea Day but also shines a spotlight on the region's dedication to preserving and promoting its attractions. From castles to caves, railways to zoos, every member stands as a testament to Devon's diversity and dynamism.
huge Summer giveaway! 40 passes up for grabs
Anne Blackham Marketing Manager said. “To mark our 40th anniversary, we will be giving away 40 family tickets in a massive summer giveaway competition. It’s our way of saying thank you to the visitors who’ve helped make us what we are today — and an invitation to make new memories with us this summer.”
Rick Turner, Chairman of Devon’s Top Attractions and Director of the flock at The Big Sheep Farm & Theme Park, said: “Forty years is an incredible achievement — especially in today’s challenging climate. Our members have stood the test of time by working together, staying resilient, and never compromising on quality. This event was a celebration of that spirit, and the start of an exciting summer ahead."

No celebration would be complete without indulging in a proper Devon cream tea, and where better to enjoy it than at our very own Firestone Cafe? Nestled beside the prehistoric caves of Torquay, the cafe proudly served up its authentic cream teas that honor local traditions - scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.
Visitors can explore the awe-inspiring caverns and then unwind with a classic treat that celebrates the very essence of Devon.
